Critic's Review
This place is stuffed between Home Depot and Sonic; 2 places I go to now and them. I thought I'd give them a try. I first tried to order online; when I got to checkout they add a $1.50 service charge to the order. I guess they don't want to take online orders. You'd think a place with 10 locations would be able to secure online ordering without having to charge such an onerous service charge.I had to go to Home Depot; you can get here from there without leaving the parking lot.
I ordered at the counter and waited; it took 7 minutes to prepare the order.
As you can see you save a bit on the sales tax (80 cents is correct), but it will cost you $1.50 more to order in advance. Ridiculous.
When I got home I opened the bag.
Didn't look too shabby. I've never ordered a Chile Relleno takeout; it's my go-to when I'm dining in. Offering it as a side is something most places don't offer.
The fish taco looked pretty good; a decent sized fish stick the center of attention.
The Chile Relleno was drenched in an orange sauce; "Ranchero" sauces vary to the point of there not really being such a thing. Many times it ruins the dish. I wasn't sure how 1 felt about this.
The salsas here are not a plus. They don't have a pico de gallo; this was the closest think and it was just too watery to consider trying. It has nothing in it.
After sampling both of these, I was impressed. The fish taco was firm with a tangy sauce and crunchy cabbage that complemented the fish; The chile Relleno sauce was excellent and added flavor and spice to the well cooked stuffed chile.
The would have beneftitted from a bit of reheating to re-melt the cheese, but it was pretty good luke warm.
Note they do not remove the stem, so beware of it. You don't want to bite into a stem.
