Critic's Review
Buddy V's is located in the Mall adjacent to the Venetian and Palazzo hotels. They tout their lasagna as legendary; I decided to give it a try while staying at the Venetian.Buddy V's is in the mall, so outside ambiance is mall ambiance.
I view this place as an upscale pizzeria; much nicer than some take out place, but no so fancy that you'll feel under dressed in casual attire. It's a place you could take your grandparents and they wouldn't feel out of place.
I usually don't like eating at the bar, but on a weekend I wasn't going to try to get a table for 1.
I took a seat; it's a pretty nice bar.
I ordered a chianti and a menu. I knew I was ordering the lasagna, but I like to take a look to see if something new was added or if prices were different from their web posted menu.
A pretty weak pour on the wine in a small glass.
The lasagna came out in about 15 minutes, which seemed a bit long considering that it's a pre-made dish. There weren't making a new tray for me; However the way they serve it, it appears they probably par cook it and they re-heat it in a serving dish.
I thought it was a poor excuse for lasagna. Way too many noodles and not enough good stuff. Nothing really special about the taste.
Conclusion
If you're Mom made lasagna when you were a kid, you're probably biased in what you think Lasagna should be. My mom made it with sausage, ground beef and lots of ricotta. 2 layers of noodles with lots of stuff inside. Buddy V's version had too many noodles and not enough good stuff.
