Critic's Review
Uber Eats has been pestering me to accept a $2 free food offer, so I decided to order a pizza. I never get food delivered because I know how to cook and I don't like to pay extra for food that isn't as good as my own. So this was my first ever Ub er Eats order.I've liked this place in the past, and they have a new square pizza that they claim is part Detroit, part Sicilian and part Grandma. I thought I'd give it a try.
To get the $25 off you have to do delivery; I usually don't like to get pizza delivered because it can arrive cold and that makes the whole thing useless; particularly when you're doing a review. But Uber has a "priority" option for $2.49 where the driver comes directly from the store to your house. Just like if you picked it up yourself.
I ordered a Sin City Square pizza with sausage and pepperoni and I aked them to leave 2 slices as cheese only so I could try it without the toppings also. This came to $24, so the pizza was entirely free. Of course with all the taxes, fees and tip it cost me over $18. Are people really paying these fees to have food delivered?
The pie arrived piping hot; the priority option is a must for a pizza. I opened the box to find a decent looking pie.
Though looking at the topping It's hard to fathom that the sausage and pepperoni is worth the $6 they charge. Pizza places have gotten so greedy charging $3 each for opttings. I fyou order more than 1 they give you less of each. It truly is a rip-off.
I was going to reheat it later; but I wanted to try it hot out of the box. I grabbed a corner slice.
Verdict
The Sin City Square is a loser. It doesn't have the oil and basil goodness of a Grandma, lacks the crust of a good Detroit, and the crust doesn't resemble the spongy thickness of a Sicilian.Review 2/23/23
Another beautiful pie from Those Guys:
Consistency matters. Getting 2 pies that are almost exactly the same a year apart matters. These guys know pizza.

I was in the mood for a Sunday Night pizza, but I didn't want to drive far to get it. I never get pizza delivered; if you want to be disappointed by a pizza, have it delivered. One of the partners in this place is the founder of Secret Pizza in the Cosmopolitan.
A place near me had mixed reviews, but they closed at 8pm. It was 7:30 and I still hadn't decided. My search for a true Grandma pizza nearby failed. I settled on these guys (I mean Those Guys). A bit expensive but they have 18" pies, so maybe they know what they're doing. 16" pizza were brainstormed by bean counters; people who care more about money than pizza. I know one place in South Florida that has 16" pizza because the boxes are cheaper.
I don't use the app; pizza guys aren't technically inclined. Too many things can go wrong with the app. I called on the phone. Old School. "18" Sausage Pizza to Pick Up Please". "20 Minutes".
18 minutes later I walk in and the pizza is ready.
11 minutes later I'm in the house. Time to look at the pie.
I open the box to reveal this glorious creation.
Well developed crust. The good Italian sausage. I'm not eating for 2 hours, but I can't wait. I chill a bottle of Chianti Riserva; the good stuff. 58 degrees is perfect for Chianti. I taste a slice while it's hot; this is gonna be good.
To restore the pizza to exactly the right temperature to eat, I heat the slices in a 200 degree oven until the cheese is melted. It takes about as long to reheat 2 slices as it does to eat 2 slice. 2 slices out, 2 slices in.
I add a bit of oregano to a couple of the slices, but not all. When I was a kid on Long Island oregano was more important than it is today.
This is as close to a perfect pizza as I've had outside of Long Island.
Conclusion
These guys know pizza. It's as simple as that.
