They call themselves a butcher shop, but it's not really a butcher shop. It's just a small grocery store. Most of the non-meat items are things you can get in a supermarket for less. Dececco pasta that's $2.99 at smiths is $3.79 here. I spotted a bottle of wine that's $8 at Walmart marked $12.49. Just 50% more.
They do have a wide selection of sausage and meats. Looking for Elk or Camal meat? They have it here.
Actually sausage is the reason I came, but it's all frozen and its $9.98 a pound. And you have to buy a pound. I don't like buying stuff when I don't know if I'll even like it, so I didn't think it was worth a try.
At the counter, even the stuff on display is frozen. They probably just take some things out of the freezers for the day. Low volume places can't afford to have meat go bad, so they keep it frozen.
They had hot Italian on sale and they make it in house, so I figured it was a good test. 2 Links for $2.50. Also frozen.
I'll let you know how it is when I have one of them. Oh, and there's a $1 surcharge for using a credit card. Luckily I had the cash.
UPDATE: The verdict on the sausage was that it's not bad Italian sausage, but it wasn't hot at all. It tasted like decent sweet Italian sausage. Fixable, but it doesn't imbue much confidence that their other, more expensive sausages are what they're supposed to be.
