They've been phasing out self-checkout, which was the best reason to go to Walmart. The checkous people at Walmart are the worse in the injustry. The store by me has eliminated self checkout altogether. So now you have to wait online and some cretin will scan the items for you. Today the woman scanned an item twice and I had to go into customer service to get a refund. When you scan your own stuff, you can see it in the register to make sure you don't make a mistake. But when the Walmart monkees do it, they punch it off the screen so fast that you have to check your receipt on the way off to make sure they don't reip you off.
Walmart+.is a Joke
I did a trial on Walmart+ and have determined it has 0 value. None. I'm a paramount plus subscriber so I figured with the benefit the service would only cost me $38. A no-brainer, right? Wrong.1) Walmart now has all of their self-service machines turned off. I don't know if they're out of order or what, but there's usually only 1 operating terminal. So I have to wait on the same lines as without Walmart+
2) They claim I "save on deliveries" and "no minimums". But there's a $35 minimum on grocery delivery. Considering I don't want someone picking out produce or meat for me, and I don't want to order anything perishable in the Vegas heat, getting to $35 is impossible for the couple of items I need at any given time. What can I buy, Salt or Coffee or ketchup? Dry pasta.
3) They try to tack on a tip for their drivers; so what am I paying the $98 for if I have to tip the drivers? I don't tip Amazon or UPS drivers.
4) The stores are a total mess, with all of the "shoppers" with their big blue carts blocking aisles and trying to run you over as you shop. It's downright hazardous There are ALWAYS long lines for checkout as they only have a couple of self-service machines open. And I hate that they ask you to "round up" for charities. The only reason to shop at Walmart is to save a dollar or 2. Lets give the savings away.
5) The gas benefit is garbage; Sam's club gas is low quality (NOT Top Tier) and the other stations are 20 cents more than Arco so the 10 cents they give saves me nothing. And its a pain to redeem.
It's almost like they don't want you going to their stores anymore. So I thought the deliveries would be a good option. But the "Benefits" are bogus, as I'd never pay $9.95 (plus tip) for < $35 worth of groceries. It's like they have no understanding that the only reason people deal with Walmart is to save a small amount of money;
