Critic's Review
I rarely get hungry early in the day, but today I was. This place is right next to an Albertson's supermarket and I needed a few things, so I ordered an Italian sub online.I did my shopping first and then went to pick up the sandwich.
It was ready when I got there; I grabbed the bag and headed home.
They gave me a boatload of napkins and banana peppers on the side, as ordered.
Unwrapped the bread looked unusual. I thought maybe they gave me wheat bread by mistake.
Not overstuffed; I'd ordered it without the shredded lettuce, because shredded lettuce is bad.
The long slice of pickle is unusual; they use pepperoni instead of the preferred Genoa; but it was a very good sandich. Mayo, Mustard, Oil, and Vinegar combine with the pickle to make this sandwich pop.
I don't believe that peppers (hot or green) were an option, as they are at other sandwich shops. But for under $9 this was a very good lunch.
Conclusion
Every town has a local favorite for subs, and I hadn't tried Port of Subs before. I think this was better than Jersey Mikes, and certainly better than Jimmy Johns, a place I'll never order from again.Looking for a satisfying lunch under $10. This may be it.
